Watch DIIV Cover Psychic TV’s “The Orchids” // Stereogum

Last month, Stereogum threw a Save Stereogum livestream event for VIP crowdfunding donors. One of the performances was from DIIV, who offered up a brand-new cover of Psychic TV’s “The Orchids,” which appears on the band’s 1983 album Dreams Less Sweet. The band has now shared it for all to watch and it comes with a tribute to Psychic TV leader Genesis P-Orridge, who passed away earlier this year: “truly one of the most revolutionary and inspiring musicians of the century.”

DIsheveled Cuss on 'The 40 Best New Bands Of 2020' // Stereogum

LOCATION: Los Angeles, CA
Disheveled Cuss sounds like the name of a grimy hardcore band screaming at you from some sweaty basement. Disheveled Cuss are not that band. Their grungy heaviness is always tempered by a power-pop sweetness, making a delicious meal of Nick Reinhart’s impeccably crafted melodies. With his Sacramento math-rock band Tera Melos, Reinhart already proved that he knows his way around the kitchen. And with Disheveled Cuss, he shows that sometimes, guitar-rock comfort food can taste just as good. – Peter

the DIIV podcast // ep 1

Listen to “Seventeen Seconds” the first episode of ‘The DIIV Podcast’ HERE

"hey — we made a podcast, the first episode is live now. it was fun to make and we plan to make it a regular thing, eventually with some exclusive content for subscribers. but for now, enjoy the first episode — we talk about our reasons for starting a podcast, our experience with music during the pandemic and subsequent lockdown measures, and The Cure’s 1980 album Seventeen Seconds. we even play some live music influenced by the album we discuss each episode. it’s nice to speak about issues important to us and about music in general outside the limitations of social media and algorithmic content curation. enjoy!" – DIIV

Emma Ruth Rundle & Thou Interview // KERRANG!

Last year in Tilburg, Netherlands, two of the underground’s most respected and creatively ambitious artists performed together. Inside a makeshift warehouse space, thousands gathered to witness the bespoke, never-before-heard music from Louisiana sludgecrushers Thou and LA ambient/dark-folkster Emma Ruth Rundle. Initially commissioned for Roadburn festival as part of Thou’s artist residency (which also included an incredible Misfits covers set in a skate park), the project has since evolved into a full-length album.
